A 28 Weeks Later Fanfiction.
I was not impressed with the second movie in regards to how they killed off every character. What made 28 Days Later so interesting was the character so I've decided to write a wee little one-shot, AU. Also, I only saw the movie once and IMDB doesn't give a detailed description of character names (aka, their rank) so go with me! This little story is taken from when Doyle was watching Scarlet in the window. Essentially, this story will revolve around Tammy, Andy, Doyle and Scarlet. The car starts! Hopefully you'll give this story a chance, and please let me know what you think! Please keep your criticsm constructive!

Scarlet had said it was only a flesh wound, but she was leaning more and more of her weight against Doyle and when she stumbled over a loose chunk of sidewalk her legs buckled and she pitched forward.
"Scarlet!" Tammy cried, Andy quickened his pace to keep up with his sister.
Doyle went down with Scarlet, catching her under the arms before she hit the ground. He was thrown momentarily off balance, and his face crushed into her neck. Scarlet's hands reflexively tightened around Doyle's neck and waist, pulling him into an embrace.
"Seargant - " Doyle began.
Scarlet let out a grunt and tried to get back on her feet, Doyle felt a tremor wrack through her body.
"Easy," Doyle pulled back, and without thinking brushed Scarlet's tangled hair back from her neck.
"I'm okay," Scarlet snapped, but her voice was tired. Doyle gave her look that called bullshit and she sighed.

I will probably regret this. Attempting a Star Wars fic is probably the biggest thing I've taken on. Bigger than Harry Potter even, there are so many details to get right.
The idea: A female x-wing mechanic. Now, I've never seen any female mechanic's in the movie-verse, but I did see one mentioned in a fic. I think it probably has more to do when SW was made. Anyway, in the story there will be more than one female mechanic, and I am going to take a Battlestar Galactica twist, because I have a feeling this character will be a lot like Specialist Cally. Not her character plunked into a different universe mind you, she is just my inspiration.
I'm not sure if this will be a romance fic. It may or may not be, I find that if I start writing something as a romance it has a different tone if I just write it as a General or Friendship fic.
I also plan to do a bit of research, as much research as I can. Which means going to the Library and hoping that they still have the X-Wing series, and they haven't sold them all away. Even if I have to get them on tape, it'll be good enough! I am fairly sure it will be a Wedge fic, because I love him. Hobby will probably get in there too, and whoever I see is still alive in the books.
It will be based in Empire Strikes Back universe. Roughly. Having them be on Hoth will provide an interesting take on machines freezing up, etc etc.
I will also have to do extensive research on terminology for the x-wing fighters, because I want this fic to be GOOD, not just a fic I'm writing for fun because I have nothing better to do. (Not that I will complain about that.)
Anyway, I am going to post what little snippets I get inspired with here. Drop a line if you want. This is going to be very rough, bulky and probably redone a dozen times. Y'eva will not have a tragic reason behind joing the Rebellion, nor is she running from her past. There will likely be tragic events to further along the plot.
Y'eva Daan is a twenty-three year old mechanic/deck hand on the Rebel Base on Hoth. She is a woman who would much rather be fixing the fighters than flying one. She feels better with one foot on the ground and hates flying. She is from Corellia, and has grown up around ships and mechanics. She is pretty modest about her skills, even though she is very good at what she does. She is from a family of six, including her parents. Not much is known about her family except that her brother is a fighter pilot with Rogue Squad.
A lot of this info on Y'eva is tentative, so it might change.
Shanti is some sort of humanoid, with mauve eyes and slightly pointed teeth. She too is a Speciallist, and a mechanic with Y'eva. She is a very positive minded woman, who makes the best of every situation. She also likes to tease Y'eva, and takes pleasure in knowing she is one of the few people who can get away with it. She is also Y'eva's bunkmate.

I am going to be re-writing, re-vamping and re-working the story I wrote for The Mummy and the The Mummy Returns fandoms. I am quite excited, except that after fiddling with photoshop for a half an hour I remember why I don't even bother to try and make collages.
Anyway, I will be posting the story on here as well as on Fanfiction.net. I am hoping to make each chapter at least ten pages long in my word document- if not longer.
This story, and trying to finish True and making my The Mummy Mood Theme will be my summer project. That and getting my license, but I digress.
Anyway, expect to see updates as the story progresses!
